Statement2Tally converts bank statement PDFs into Excel, CSV and Tally files. It is built so that your financial data stays on your own computer. This page explains exactly what that means.
Your bank statements are never uploaded
Statements are never uploaded
Your PDF is read and converted in your browser, on your computer.
Works offline once loaded
After the page has loaded, conversion needs no network connection.
When you choose a statement, it is read by code running in your web browser. The PDF, its password and the transactions in it are not sent to us or to anyone else. The Excel, CSV and Tally files you download are created on your computer. After the converter page has loaded, conversion works even with your internet connection turned off.
What is stored on your device
- Your ledger rules (for example “narration contains SALARY → Salary A/c”).
- Your Tally export settings (bank ledger name, company name, options).
These are saved in your browser's own storage on this device, so they are there next time. We cannot see them. You can delete them at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings. Statement rows are not stored: closing the page discards them.
Hosting
Like any website, our hosting provider may keep standard technical logs of page requests (such as IP address, the page requested and the time) for security and reliability. These logs never contain your statements, because statements are never sent over the network.
When you email us
If you contact us, we use your email address and message only to reply. Please do not send complete bank statements. If we ask for a sample to support a new bank, remove personal details first. We delete your messages on request.
